Tips for Cleaning Your Dancing Shoes and Managing Them

The feet are the most important body parts of a dancer and these shoes can wear out easily if not taken proper care of. It is, therefore, important to keep the feet healthy by keeping the shoes clean. Here are a few tips for cleaning your dancing shoes and managing them.

Wash with a washing machine
Place your dancing shoes in a small bag. This will give them additional protection and prevent them from getting caught if they are put inside a washing machine. Set the washing machine for a delicate cycle and add the right amount of detergent along with some cold water. Place the small bag along with the ballet shoes in the washing machine. It is not recommended that you use a fabric softener or any other kind of liquid such as a bleaching liquid so that they do not get tampered. Remove the dancing shoes from the bag when you are done washing them. Lay them flat on a towel or some kind of cloth and place them to dry in direct sunlight. Let them completely dry before wearing them.
Wash manually
Take a couple of drops of dish soap in a bowl and mix with sudsy with about a cup of warm water. Take a sponge and wet it with the sudsy mixture. Wash the surface of the dancing shoes thoroughly. Rinse the shoes with some clean water and then rinse off any residue of the sudsy mixture. Dry the shoes thoroughly using a soft towel.
